Io ho un sogno: HANIBAL DEATH MACHINE (Intervista)
Sicuramente c'è molto di più che la sola musica dietro gli Hanibal Deatrh Machine, e il cantante Jean-Luc Loret è un personaggio carismatico e dotato di un'ottima voce. Proprio lui ha risposto alle nostre domande. A volte la traduzione è stata difficile, ma speriamo di aver reso al meglio il significato delle sue parole. 1) Ciao Hanibal Death Machine e benvenuti. Raccontateci un po' di voi e degli album che avete fatto ad oggi.
Ciao, il gruppo è nato nel 2015 e ha pubblicato 2 EP e un album: EP "Birth" 2016, EP "Sombres Visions" 2017, Album "A Bout De Souffle" 2019. In cinque anni ci sono stati cambiamenti di line-up e rimane solo Jean-Luc: il cantante della formazione iniziale!
2) Quali sono le vostre fonti d'ispirazione e come pensate che queste influenzino il vostro modo di comporre?
Le mie fonti di ispirazione si evolvono nel tempo. All'inizio del gruppo erano metal industriali ed è per questo che i sequencer sono iper presenti sulla nostra produzione, ma da più di due anni ascolto molto pagan black metal e il gruppo che mi influenza ora è Rotting Christ, penso che le prossime canzoni degli HDM saranno molto più sciamaniche, tribali, meno industriali, la sfida sarà quella di rendere questa musica industriale + umana!
3) Di cosa parlano i testi del tuo ultimo ep?
I testi parlano di una fine della civiltà, motivo per cui l'abbiamo chiamato A Bout De Souffle! Parliamo delle ragioni di questa fine prossima: l'egualitarismo del denaro, il capitalismo che macina le persone, il contesto sociale di oggi.
4) Come viene solitamente creata la tua canzone e chi scrive i testi?
Usiamo diversi metodi, non esiste una regola: a volte parte da un riff di chitarra o di basso, oppure da un ritmo di batteria, dipende! Comincio col mettere la mia melodia e molto rapidamente le parole arrivano da me. Lavoro poi il testo a casa in pace! Poi arriva il lavoro di arrangiamento e gli effetti e synth impreziosiscono il lavoro!
5) Di cosa parlano di solito le vostre canzoni, e in particolare di cosa parlano i testi di "I have a dream", che è anche il vostro videoclip ufficiale?
Le mie canzoni parlano della situazione sociale, l'essere umano nella sua parte più oscura... il tono è generalmente politico! Ho un sogno che parla di razzismo in senso lato che riguarda il non accettare la differenza di individuo, handicap, colore della pelle e altro, sono tutte queste forme di razzismo che reprimo in questa canzone!
6) Come si è evoluto il tuo suono in questi anni?
Siamo partiti da un sound rock industriale tipo Marilyn Manson Rob Zombie, ma dall'uscita di A Bout De Souffle e l'arrivo di Corentin alla chitarra si nota un orientamento molto più metal, lui si ispira in particolare a Gogira! Oggi il nostro suono tenderà verso un crossover metal doom, black metal pagano indistriale, penso che le soluzioni saranno più spirituali !!
7) Come va adesso in Francia riguardo all'emergenza del coronavirus? E cosa ne pensi di questa emergenza sanitaria?
In Francia, come ovunque nel mondo, suppongo, questo virus ha messo paura in tutte le teste, inoltre il suo uso è servito ai nostri governi in declino di fronte alla ribellione emergente dei popoli! Per osservare bene questo periodo sembra per me che la pandemia è arrivata al momento giusto, perché è sotto un ordine capitalista. Non so cosa sarà fatto domani; sembrano possibili diverse questioni, o la riforma del popolo come approfondimento dell'ideologia umanista, oppure l'essere umano non sarà altro che una pedina sottoposta a una minoranza!
8) Quali sono i vostri piani più immediati?
Continuare a comporre, il contesto attuale è favorevole alla creazione, appena possibile vorremmo nei prossimi quattro mesi rilasciare u nuovo videoclip.

1) Hi guys and welcome. Tell us a little about yourself and the albums you made at least today.
Hi, The group was born in 2015 and released 2 EPs and an album: 2016 EP Birth, 2017 EP Sombres Visions, 2019 Album A Bout De Souffle. In five years, a change of line up, only Jean-Luc remains: the singer of the initial formation!
2) What are your sources of inspiration and how do you think these influence your way of composing?
My sources of inspiration evolve over time. At the beginning of the group they were industrial metal that is why the sequences are hyper present on our production, but for more than two years I listen to a lot of pagan and black and the group which influences me now is Rotting Christ i think that the next HDM songs will be much more shamanic, tribal, less industrial, the challenge will be to make this music industrial + human!
3) What are the lyrics of your latest ep about?
The lyrics speak of an end of civilization, reason why we called it album A Bout De Souffle! We talk about the reasons for this approaching end: the egalitarianism of money, capitalism that grinds people, the social context of today
4) How is your song usually created and who writes the lyrics?
We use several methods, there is no rule: sometimes it starts from a guitar or bass riff or else a beat rhythm that depends! I start to jam to place my melody and very quickly words come to me I re work then the text at home in peace! Then come the arrangement work and the sequences embellish the work!
5) What do your songs usually talk about, and in particular what the lyrics of "I have a dream" are about, what is your official videoclip also?
My songs speak about the social situation, the human in its darkest part the tone is generally political! I have a dream speaks of racism in the broadest sense not to accept the difference of an individual, handicap, skin color and other it is all these forms of racism that I repress in this song!
6) How has your sound evolved in these years?
We started from an industrial Rock sound like Marilyn Manson Rob Zombie but since A Bout De Souffle and the arrival of Corentin on guitar a much more metal orientation is to be noted, it is inspired in particular by Gogira! Today our sound will tend towards a crossover metal doom black industrial pagan I think that the ranges will be more spiritual!!
7) How is it going in France now regarding the coronavirus emergency? And what do you think about this health emergency?
In France as everywhere in the world I suppose, the corona has put fear in all heads, besides is it the corona or its use by our governments in decline in the face of the emerging rebellion of peoples! To observe this period well it seems to me that the corona arrived at the right time for it is capitalist order or what remains, I do not know what will be done tomorrow several issues seem possible, either the people reform in depth the humanist ideology, either we will go to a world order or the human will be nothing more than a pawn subjected to a minority!
8) What are your most immediate plans?
Continuing to compose the current context is conducive to creation, as soon as possible find the scene and we would like in the next four months to release a new clip
